Low-fi High Five
Graphic designers live in an increasingly overstimulated world. Trends, software, and education evolve at breakneck speeds. We are producing more work with more technology with client and peer pressure to adapt. Changing this narrative on a more personal level requires a return to design roots, where the process is slowed down and work becomes more meaningful and less derivative.
How, then, can designers maintain a productive and joyful relationship within this field? I want to explore how we can stay connected with each phase of design; from initial research to completion while navigating authentic modes of deriving inspiration. For me, the answer lies in collecting tangible objects that show me where I’ve been and why I wanted to be a designer in the first place.
